My GP sent me for an assessment at Prospect Park It was a horrible experience from beginning to end. To start I had to wait for ages in reception which just added to my anxiety and I was in such a state by the time I was actually seen. I was close to leaving. I didn't get an apology or any acknowledgment of the distress that this had caused me. I was sat in a horrible, claustrophobic room with two staff. I felt uncomfortable and a bit threatened. The assessment was quite in depth but I thought a lot of what I felt was important was just dismissed or skipped over. At the end I wasn't told what to expect or when/how a decision would be made. I left the room feeling miserable. I was eventually told that I did not meet the criteria and so would not get any help. My GP had to contact Prospect Park on my behalf to get me the help that I desperately needed. I think that this is such a disgraceful way to treat vulnerable people. Throughout I felt like I was not taken seriously and generally was given the feeling that I was wasting people's time.
"an awful experience"
