About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

My son was misdiagnosed earlier on the morning by a dr on call in a+e. I had braught him as he was having difficulty passing water. The dr informed me that he was fine and just needed to stop holding it. Later on the same day my son was in unbearable pain he was assessed in a+e by a different DR who informed me my son had a very serious infection and ended up having an emergency castration my boy is only 5 and seeing him go under GA was an experience I will never forget . I really feel extremely grateful to the surgeon who was so nice to me and took great care of my son. The ward staff were all generally nice but didn't offer me a bed. I stayed with my son for a week and had to sleep on a chair. I have no family in Manchester and couldn't leave my son as staff were limited so I found myself often waiting till 10pm ish after he had fallen asleep to get a drink or something to eat as I couldn't leave him incase he needed me. I am so lucky that he has made a full recovery and was pleased how he was seen and looked after the second time I took him
