"I'm depressed and feel abandoned by the NHS"

About: Central and Eastern Cheshire PCT / Primary care mental health service

(as the patient),

I have been suffering from severe depression for several months. I pointed out that I had been feeling gradually worse and one day whilst feeling particularly down I told them that I was ceasing treatment. This was a Friday. They said that I could always call if necessary.

Following a very difficult weekend I called on Monday morning to be told "either you want our help or not" in a very condescending tone. They were clearly annoyed at my phone call and I was fobbed off to several different departments before they said what I have stated.

I went to see my GP last week, he gave me enough pills for one week. A week later (today) I am informed no more pills via anyone other than my GP, who can not get me an appointment until Wed so although my pills run out today, I won't get any more until Wednesday at the earliest. I'm struggling to maintain the will to live and let live and it seems that I'm just getting in the way of these people. I wonder what would have to happen to get them to change their attitude and policy?
