About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

Refused appointment at GP’s first request. 2nd letter from GP saw consultant could not do pre op assessment that day too busy had to go back again, yet more delay. Did not get first choice of hospital waited far too long for treatment.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with the TRAQS team. I am sorry that your initial referral was returned to your GP. This could have been for a number of reasons including insufficient clinical information being included in the referral. The clinical information is essential to ensure that TRAQS are able to direct the referral to the correct speciality/consultant first time.

TRAQS do not undertake pre-op assessments and are therefore unable to comment on behalf of the hospital. If you would like to raise an issue relating to this part of your experience please contact the hospital PALS officer - the swithchboard will be able to put you through to the correct dept. They will be able to take on board your comments and investigate on your behalf.

I am sorry that TRAQS were unable to offer an appointment at your first choice of hospital. TRAQS rely upon the hospitals to release available appointments which TRAQS can then offer to the patient and book a suitable date and time. I am sure you can appreciate that this is outside TRAQS control as appointment availability is managed by the hospital booking staff.
