We have had private cover for many years through my partner's job.This has ended,and we were hesitating to take this expense on.I was rushed into Warwick A&E last week after a bad fall down the stairs.By the same afternoon I had dynamic hip repair with epidural (fantastic as I react badly to general anaesthetic) and by the early evening was enjoying a picnic brought in.The pain of the injury was terrible,but a programme of pain relief was quickly in place. From the paramedics who arrived in record time,to the medical staff and porters I could not fault anything.They did a mega clean one day,and this was followed by someone checking the results the next day.The staff on Guy ward were lovely,with some good natured banter to lift the mood.Shame about some of the patients they have to deal with,I could never do that job. On my return I have been given advice and support by the SWATT team,giving me the confidence to aim at recovery.
