About: Wexham Park Hospital

Medical treatment for Prostate Cancer was first class. We greatly appreciated the level of communication between the consultant and the family. Nursing care in the Day Care Unit during the day - where I was for 6 days - was excellent. However, the contract night staff were not in evidence during the night. There appeared to be no-one at the nurses desk on the occasions that I was awake. There was a problem with obtaining medication to take home on my release which resulted in me having to spend an extra night in the hospital.

I am delighted to hear the medical care was first class and the consultant communicated well with you and your family. I will pass your review to the team. I am sorry that the night shift staff were not visible to you during the times you were awake, and for the delay in obtaining the medication. I will feed this back to the Matron in the Day Surgery Unit to share with the team for improvements to be made as necessary, and to share your positive comments regarding the day staff.
