March 2013
Went down with kidney stone in my left ureter to Rotherham District General Hospital, it was found quickly and took far too long to remove. After several admissions plus an emergency stent the stone was cut out using a laser in two operations.
Months of pain and problems followed, many tests were done and nothing was found and I think I was “not listened to”. I sustained a cancer scare which was an incidental find and is still on going (prostate). Out of desperation the urologist of Rotherham District General Hospital referred me to pain clinic at Mexborough Montagu. The doctor I saw was extremely good, his opinion was the same as mine, I had been admitted to Rotherham District General Hospital seven days before my attendance at mexbrough. This admission in February 2014 was a suspected testicular torsion, general surgeons had a “disagreement” with Rotherham District General Hospital urology. General surgeon diagnosed Epididymitis but urology refused to listen, referring me to Mexborough pain management.
My GP, Dr Siyed is a surgeon in his own right. Just after my consultation at Mexborough, on the same day, my GP saw me due to a lump in my left groin. A massive infection was diagnosed and four weeks of flucloxacillin was prescribed. Urology were embarrassed and requested to see me. My GP operated at my own surgery. My recovery is going from strength to strength, at to Rotherham District General Hospital urology in two days for cancer review.
