"Patient transport and treatment for hemocromatosis"

About: Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as other),

I came to Aintree hospital to get blood taken as treatment for my condition. I don't have to wait very long normally.

Patient transport is more difficult, waiting times are long there. Every time I book I need to answer a lot of questions.

I am sorry to hear you sometimes have to wait a long time for your patient transport and are unhappy having to answer a lot of questions in order to get transport. Unfortunately unless you are a renal or a cancer patient we are required by our Commissioners to ask each patient a series of eligibility questions at every call. This is incase a patient's clinical condition or mobility has changed.

We are required to provide transport to patients in accordance with a number of quality standards. These can be found on our website: http://www.patienttransport.nwas.nhs.uk. If you would like further information on any aspect of our service or to talk to a member of staff about your experience, please contact the Patient Experience Team by email; talktous@nwas.nhs.uk or Freephone 0300 555 0110 and we would be pleased to try and help you.
