"I have a problem with the TRAQS service every time"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

I have a problem with your service every time because I am not in a position to use or communicate effectively by phone and have missed the chance to get referrals in the past because of this.

Please, please, please could you consider a simple online booking form? Patients should not be required to enter personal details e. g. no email address, but your letter should contain a validation number they can enter into the online booking site.

I am sorry that you have experienced problems using the TRAQS service in the past.

We do use a Unique Booking Reference Number for each individual referral and once the referral has been created it is possible to use the Choose and Book website to book a suitable appointment. Although not all local hospitals have free appointment slots which can be an issue for patients.There are also some local clinics within the Community which do not have access to the Choose and Book system and this means that patients cannot use the booking system to arrange an appointment.

We can send information to a patient's personal email address as long as we have the patient's permission. This is required because this method is not totally secure and may be open to outside influence depending upon the patient's internet security software.

The TRAQS team has an email account which can be used by patients who are either unable to communicate over the telephone or have other difficulties which makes communication difficult for them. The email account for the TRAQS team is traqsteam@nhs.net
