"Plan of departments"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

It would be useful to be able to download a plan of the various departments and car parks. This would greatly assist visitors to know wher to go. It is a relatively large site and the directions are not sufficient. Regular visitors may know where the various departments are but first time and infrequent visitors do not. It would be quite easy to add to the website. The treatment I had in A&E was disgraceful. I had to wait 5 hours before an open wound was dressed. My wife kept reporting that blood was dripping on the floor but was told I had to wait my turn. I had been pre-assessed after an hour and then shunted around to different staff but no-one dressed the wound until my wife had an argument with the staff. A man came in at the same time as I did with extensive injuries following an RTA and he too was treated in a similar manner. The problem is that there is no priority. After patients see one person they are put to the back of the queue and told they have to wait 2hours for the next inspection. Someone must look at the procedures in A&E. Not all the people attending are urgent cases. After the initial assessment then surely some cases should receive priority and not just treated like a production line. I have no problem with the eventual treatment and the staff but the organisation really needs sorting out.
