"Post Op aftercare"

I cannot praise the staff and surgeon highly enough for the support and treatment up to the day of my prostate operation. Post op though has been abysmal. Not one visit from district nurses during recovery period, except to collect unused equipment 2 months later. Post op review confirmed that I still have a PSA reading and was advised that I would need monitoring every 2 months. It is now 8 months since my op and 7 months since post op review, and the only contact I've had is when I spoke to appointments and they told me that I'd attend the Nurse's clinic in June. Still waiting for appointment at end of July. When I contacted the Urology Nurse and explained she sent me blood test forms and I gave blood twice, although this would have waited until after Nurse's clinic if I hadn't phoned to chase it. Does nobody understand that it is the not knowing that is the most destructive part of the process when you may or may not have this thing growing inside you!
