"Long delays in X-ray results to GP"

About: Newquay Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

In early July I had a Xray at Newquay Hospital after which I was told the results would be with my G. P between 1 week and 10 days.

4 weeks later I am still waiting. When I enquired at Newquay hospital about the delay I was told that all X-rays have to be sent to Treliske to be checked by "someone" before they are sent to my G. P. and they have only just finished doing June's X-rays.

Today I had to take the wife to A and E with a problem on her knee, the first thing they did was send her for a X-ray and they had the results through within 30 minutes, is it any wonder more people are going direct to A and E if this is the only way to get a result back promptly?

Thank you for your feedback. We have passed your comments onto Royal Cornwall Hospital who manage the x-ray service for them to respond. We do apologise the length of time you have been waiting for the results and I trust you will hear as soon as possible.
