"Communication between departments could be better"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS) The Princess Royal Hospital / Physiotherapy

(as a service user),

I had MRI + results in December 2013 and referral to PRH. Physio did not receive MRI results – so how could I be treated? ?

I was told I had 4 consultations with her – so I put on hold until she had MRI or info from the consultant that I was referred to. Consultant at my appointment had no record of why I had an appointment or a copy of MRI. A wasted appointment for a busy department and myself. The consultant thought I should be seen by ‘neck dept’ not arm department. He offered an appointment to test the nerves in my arm any way. As a result I was discharged in April and advised to have physio. I contacted the physio department to continue treatment. They informed me I had been discharged.

So I started again in May to see my GP to get referred again – as she had done in December 2013. This time I have my own copy of MRI as I believe alliance medical is not compatible with PRH. So 6 months after being referred, I hope the communication between the departments will be efficient to enable me to receive the correct treatment I deserve.
