On Thursday I was booked in for carpal tunnel surgery and I say I was terrified would be an understatement! Every single member of staff was FABULOUS. I had also fallen the day previously and had a trip to A and E staff great there too. The surgeons were great and the anaesthetist arranged for me to have painkillers for my ankle injury. I also informed the anaesthetist that I was very scared and had good personal reasons for this and that I needed GA. The anaesthetist agreed with me and although petrified I stayed and went ahead with surgery. My nurse was great and the student nurse was wonderful, helping to distract me, the theatre staff were wonderful too. I can only say that if all departments are run with such great care for the patients as ward D5 then the hospital is in great hands. Thank you to all of the team
