"Thumb orthopaedic surgery metal removal"

About: King's Mill Hospital

I saw a Consultant for removal of a metal implant from a broken thumb 19 years ago. She was absolutely fabulous you couldn't wish for a nicer person she have me confidence to go ahead with the day case operation and being an organ player this was a concern that another op may decrease mobility for me. She was so good at her job that although I was sent home with morphine and other painkillers I needed none she had been so gentle during the operation removing the screws, pin and plate. After the operation I was looked after by a wonderful nurse who simply couldn't have been nicer. Two weeks later today I saw the occupational therapist who also was brilliant and i believe it simply couldn't have been possible to have had a more pleasant and reassuring time at kings mill. I have been extremely impressed from start to finish and while waiting for the op met a lovely young lady in for treatment who had traveled all the way from Lincoln as she preferred kings mill to her own local hospital. Well done kings mill-thumb up!? x
