"I suffered from sudden cronic ..."

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I suffered from sudden cronic kidny failure and could not have asked for better service. Everyone from the cleaning staff up to the senior consultants were wonderfully caring. All of the permanent nursing staff were kind and friendly putting me at ease in a fairly desperate situation. Nothing was too much trouble. Perhaps it’s a strange thing to say, given the circumstances of it, but I enjoyed my three week stay on the various wards at the Royal.

The volunteers, such as the paper delivery, sweet trolley and library people helped to make my stay more pleasant.

What could be improved

The food, in general, was good with plenty of choice but food that was meant to be hot was regularly served cool which meant that it was less appetising.

Anything else?

The bank staff employed in the evenings and weekends were generally not very caring and appeared to think of patients as being a bit of a nuisance.
