Arrived from GP with copy of ECG and letter after 1st episode of AF. First doctor in acute assessment ward could not find ECG. I was never advised if they ever found it,but as it was taken during the event it would seem to me to be a reasonably important document. I subsequently visited the anti coagulation clinic but my notes had not been delivered there either, do they still exist I wonder. Assessment ward was a bit hectic which I suspect was to be expected but lights on untill 3.15 am not very restfull. On the following day Saturday the Gentleman opposite me who was discharged on the same day had 6 visitors all at once. there is no point in making rules if they are not enforced. They are there for the benefit of patients. Ward care first class super nurses. Angio totaly professional and kept informed by Doctor. After care by nurse first class. Echo again very proffessional. However I did hear the Consultant say that a second Echo should be done which never happened. While I am aware that Consultants and Senior Doctors have limited time and that different patients have different requirements regarding the depth of information they want regarding their diagnosis and treatment etc it seemed to me to be the norm that the minimum of information was provided The discharge system where medication is require is just a bit of a disaster 5Hrs from leaving the ward to getting out of the door is a bit too long. Apart from the little moans very happy with the over all experience
