"APS training needed"

About: Croydon University Hospital

I went to A&E on Sunday13th with severe pain at the back of my head I have a long term condition that causes my blood to clot I was given no treatment or tests told to go to gp the following morning At a previous visit my blood was taken and was found to be clotting, but I was told this was due to dehydration, although I had been drinking normal fluids, and sent home with no treatment At both of these appointments the staff who saw me had not heard of my condition It is called antiphospholipid syndrome and it literally means sticky blood!

We are very sorry that you have had a poor experience with us. It is not clear from your feedback if you were seen in our Emergency Department or the Croydon Urgent Care Centre run by VirginCare, so we have passed on your concerns to both services. We are happy to meet with you and discuss your recent experiences. If you contact our PALS team on 020 8401 3210 or at pals@croydonhealth.nhs.uk, we will arrange for someone from the service to get in touch.
