"All the staff were really charming"

About: Knowsley NHS Walk-in Centre, Huyton

(as the patient),

After scalding my hand I went to the Huyton Walk-in Centre to see if they could help with treating it. I had a bit of a wait as I didn't have an appointment – but that was fine.

All the staff were really charming but I was most impressed with the nurse, Thomas, who treated my hand. I just felt like he had gone that extra mile for me, he was so kind. He cleaned my hand, dressed it, and explained what he was doing and what I should do afterwards. The way he explained everything – he was like a friend.

I'm not one for doing this kind of thing, giving feedback, but I was so impressed with Thomas I felt I really wanted to let you know. Sometimes you get the impression that staff see you and treat you but it’s just a job. With Thomas it felt like it really mattered.

Just little things like how to wash the grip holding the dressing in place that he explained to me. I felt really reassured and relieved.
