"Concern over advertising on NHS Fife Wound Care Leaflet"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

Recently attended Minor Injuries Unit at Queen Margaret Hospital with a cut finger.

l am very happy with the service I received however as l left l was given a leaflet on wound care. l was very surprised to see an advert on the back of the leaflet for Asyst. Advising me l may be able to claim compensation.

l believe the government is trying to control the growing compensation culture. l believe the advert to be inappropriate.

Dear Bgmac,

Thank you for your positive feedback I am pleased that you were happy with the service and will be sure to pass on your comments.

I agree with you that the advertising on the leaflet was inappropriate and we are currently updating our advice leaflets for both Queen Margarets and the A & E here at the Victoria -these are now nearly ready to go out. You will be pleased to know that these will exclude any advertising and will all be produced in house.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

Best Wishes.

Heather Knox
