"stay on austen ward"

About: Hollins Park

Facilities on ward limiting due to health and safety reasons. Each room should have ts own toilet was put in a makeshift room had to use the public toilet in the night very inconvenient-unhygenic and disgusting at times. Shower was filthy in evenings and nights. Food on ward ok but not very health or nutritious-no option of hot or coooked breakfast sick of toast for breakfast and supper. Staff canteen de la mer should be open longer for those patients allowed access. Food very stodgy but how are patients meant to get better with such poor diet? Drs can be patronizing and you feel they dont want to meet you to see your progress didnt see my main dr till day i left when she should have seen me 72hrs after admission. I didnt really have a clear care plan either. My medicines were not given on time and doses were missed! Most nursing staff are ok some are very stuck up and treat you like your nothing because of your mental health. Healthcare support workers are great at least on the ward i was in for now. Domestic staff are good as are the healthcare practioners, receptionits etc. Did feel anxious and nervous with some extreme patients but staff ensured security. Overall stay has been alright and i sort of feel better but not 100% confident. Suicide thoughts have not disappeared completely but they are a lot less we shall see. I think i need rehab as opposed to mental health services!
