"DVT treatment"

About: James Paget University Hospital

Having suddenly developed a very swollen left leg I went to my local GP at 8am for an emergency appointment, got seen at 10am. The doctor immediately rang the DVT clinic at the James Paget for an ultrasound scan at 12.10pm. Got there early and was seen at 11.30am. They found a blood clot and got me a CT scan by 1pm. Meanwhile the DVT nurse talked me through the process for self injecting Dalteparin anticoagulant and arranged a series of blood tests for determining how much Warfarin I should take. I was home again by 5pm. I can find no fault at all with the kindly and efficient treatment that I received.

Thank you very much for taking the time to record your comments. I am so pleased to hear that you were treated promptly and given the support and advice you needed by the nurses. I have passed your comments on to them, they will be very glad to hear that you were happy with your treatment. Ann Filby, Head of Communications
