"Absolute failure to help me over the last two..."

About: West Park Hospital

Absolutely not fit for service. I tried to contact the crisis team and hospital direct for emergency in care but "I was not in the system" despite having seen the psychiatrist two weeks earlier. Thanks for that. Last night i spent five hours in darlington A and E awaiting crisis intervention, but they would not be there for another two hours. No psych on call, and no one available. No doctor saw me. I wripped out a lot of hair during that time. i managed to cut myself badly. i could have killed myself as the door in the room was often closed. Thanks for nothing. Useless hosptal - the only people who supported me where the Samaritans - please use them uinstead.

Response from West Park Hospital

The Trust is sorry to read that you have concerns about our services and we appreciate this has been a difficult time for you. It is important that when we hear from people that are not happy with the service they receive that we resolve the issues raised. It wouldn’t be appropriate for us to comment here on the personal details of an individual’s care so we would like the opportunity to assist with your concerns, which can be done through our patient advice and liaison service (PALS) on freephone 0800 052 0219 or email tewv.pals@nhs.net where staff will be able to provide advice and support.
