What I liked

I found the nursing staff to always be friendly, efficient and went out of their way to be helpful. When I needed medication, it was always there. This was different from my previous hospital experience in the area and I was truly grateful my normal hospital was full up and I was sent on to Fairfield.

What could be improved

The time it took to get a bed as there were seven of us lined up on trolleys in the corridor awaiting our beds but once in, they were lovely.

Thank you for your kind comments about the care you received at Fairfield General Hospital. We are sorry that your previous hospital experience was unsatisfactory. Without more information it is difficult to comment about the length of time you had to wait for a bed. However, you will probably appreciate that our services have been under severe pressure due to an increase in winter illnesses resulting in patients needing admission to hospital. We can only apologise for the wait and thank you for your patience.
