"Parking for disabled."

About: Stafford Hospital

Parking was terrible and caused a great deal of stress. It was impossible to find any space, letalone a disabled space to get my 90year old grandfather who has recently fractured his femur to his out patient appointment. I had to abandon him at reception for 20 min, used up the petrol that I thought would get us home and ultimately out of fraustration, I had to park on red lines and accept that I would get a ticket but seeing no alternative. The PALS department were helpful but admitted that there was nothing they could do. I have to take him again in 5 weeks and dispair at how this will be achieved without undue distress to both myself and my grandfather.

Thank you your feedback. We appreciate the frustrations and the difficulty that parking brings and are working very hard to identify a satisfactory resolution. In the meantime and in view of your further appointment, please can I suggest that you contact our PALS team on 08000 721646 who will be able to arrange for a volunteer to meet you at the doorway on the day of the appointment and wait with your grandfather whilst you park the car.

Kind Regards
