"can't realy fault NHH"

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

I have quite a few health problems and i have been in and out off hospital quite abit over the past few months and the staff on A & E are so friendly and caring and are very professional at what they do but sometimes when you are waiting in the waiting area to be seen, you can be waiting there for a couple off hours or more and that ain't good when you are very breathless as i was when i had a bad allergic reaction to an antibiotic that i was given and if you have to see Hants Doc on more the one occasion then you end up getting told off, because Hants Doc is for emergencies only but when you ain't well in the night and the GP surgery is closed then you call 111 for general medical advice and the first thing they do is put you in a queue for a call back from Hants Doc which i ask them not to put me through to Hants Doc because i don't feel confident in Hants Doc anymore after being spoken to like that when it ain't my thought that i have several health problem's going on which i cant contact my own GP surgery after hours and if you ain't well then what are you supposed to do. The staff on the short stay ward are also very nice and friendly and make you feel so cared for and also on AAU as well, they are all very professional at what they do and Basingstoke Hospital is also very clean, hygienic, and has very warm surroundings and also i would like to thank the Urologist that i had to see who was also very friendly and i also have an ultra sound scan this month and i will be having Colorectal Surgery in August which i am worried about but if the staff there are as friendly as on the other wards that i have been on then im sure i will feel more relaxed about it. So yeah the only let down really is some off the OOH doctors at Hants Doc who can become very moody at times but some off the OOH doctors are nice and also i have had a very good experience with the paramedics when i have had to have an Ambulance take me to hospital. I Definitely Would Recommend NHH to anyone who is looking for good care.

Thank you for comments on NHS Choices. It is always good to get positive feedback from patients and on the quality of care and treatment they have received. I will ensure that your kind words are received by the staff in the Emergency Department, who I’m sure, will greatly appreciate your encouraging remarks. The Hants Doc service is provided by North Hampshire Urgent Care who can be contacted on 01252 335569 or via their website www.nhuc.co.uk Mary Edwards Chief Executive Email: mary.edwards@hhft.nhs.uk
