Was take to hospital by my husband with sudden onset heart palpitations. Busy A &E but was triaged immediately and taken to red alert room. Was closely monitored and chest X Ray taken. Staff were lovely and very reassuring to my husband. Was given drugs to stabilise heart rhythm and warfarin to thin blood in case of stroke then admitted to cardio ward for overnight observation. Full heart echogram in morning checking structure and function of heart, bloods taken and discharged from hospital with follow up review in Cardio rehabilitation Unit to follow. Cannot speak highly enough of all staff involved in my care- including discharge doctor who advised me to return to collect prescription for betablockers later that pm rather than wait in hospital. Thank you all for the sterling job you did for me. Slight frustration that discharge medication cannot be processed more quickly-sure most people would rather not waste NHS beds/places in waiting rooms awaiting discharge paperwork/medication.
