. I wouldn’t want to rubbish the whole team or to put others off going to this Kingston: on the contrary, I would be extremely happy to be seen again by the two members of staff who carried out my assessment. There is, however. unacceptable variability within the team; where it is bad, it is deeply inadequate. In my case, “bedside manner”, communication with the patient and within the team as well as information about aftercare were all so woefully inadequate as to be way off the bottom of the scale of unacceptably poor. I was subjected to a great deal of tactless, unsettling, patronising handling by staff. Were this a school being inspected on the basis of student satisfaction, it would be closed down. If I were to be referred to this facility again and to be allocated to the same nurse and doctor, I would flatly refuse to accept treatment from them. I do hope that what I say here might be taken into consideration in future policy revision such that other patients will be spared the gratuitous and totally needless distress and discourteousness to which I was subjected.
