About: St Michael's Hospital (Hayle)

I am ashamed to say that until a referral by my GP I had never heard of this gem of a hospital. My initial preventative bi lateral mastectomy was done in the North of England 17 years ago and having had marked deterioration of my implants I was sent to see the Consultant and his team at St Michael's. From the first out patients appointment I was met with understanding, kindness and humour from all the staff concerned. Just over 4 weeks ago I came in to the hospital for my surgery, feeling apprehensive as does everyone who goes to hospital. I cannot fault my treatment in any way, the nursing staff were warm, kind, patient and attentive and I do not have sufficient words of praise for the Consultant and his surgical team. The operation was a great success and I now feel really well, not only physically but emotionally thanks to the huge improvement he has created in my appearance, this is not to be underestimated in the emotional well being of ladies. St Michael's Ward was as good as it gets for a hospital ward and I have been in a few over the years. The team work from everyone, including catering and cleaning staff was evident, there was real affection and a willingness to make your stay as good as it could be. Thank you to all concerned.
