"Aweful and doctors had no compassion"

After waiting in A&E for over 2 hours suffering a miscarriage in the waiting room the doctor who came down from gynae was very cold and didn't give me any information. Was told it didn't look good and would have to wait 2 days to get an emergency scan to confirm miscarriage. The nurse on the day staff was nice and the lady at Epu I saw after was very understanding but the waiting was disguising and the doctor is in the wrong profession.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Medway and I am sorry to hear that you have suffered a miscarriage. We always act on feedback given to us from our patients and feedback to the individual members of staff involved. In order for me to do this I will need to access your notes to see which member of our team attended to you in A&E. When I have identified the doctor I will ensure that he/she has this feedback from the consultant in relation to attitude and manner and any learning need identified will be met. As a gynaecology unit we have recently worked with the emergency department to look at having a smooth process for timely referral to a specialist service such as gynaecology, again when I look at your notes I will be able to see how well this was done.
