"A question about my toe and shoulder"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

I contacted Glasgow Health Service complaints department to ask if I could get my Shoulder & Toe fixed under the same general anaesthetic as common sense dictates .

This seems to be unheard of and has not been done before but I do not see why not .

As my toe just has to be broken I could do that myself as if you do break it the hospital does nothing and just lets it heal by itself .

Once again common sense should apply instead of it can not be done .

So what I require is somebody to tell the Doctor doing my shoulder that he can break my toe.

The Golden Jubilee National Hospital is managed by the NHS National Waiting Times Centre. As we are not part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, we are unable to answer your question about your forthcoming surgery. However, we would advise you to direct any questions or concerns to the surgeon who will be carrying out your operation, as they will be best placed to provide any advice and reassurance.

The reason I thought this was unhelpful was because I do not know if I have the authority to instruct a surgeon????
