"Parking - Staff and Patients"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

I am currently undergoing chemotherapy at stepping Hill. I cannot fault my treatment etc. However, despite help with parking charges, this is a waste of time if there are not enough car parking spaces for patients. I recently parked carefully in one car park - but not within lines - and I got a parking fine! My car was classed as an obstruction - however I made sure it was where there were two small cars and they had staff passes on the windscreens. I then wandered round to find staff and student passes out of date but parking in spaces other than the "LARGE" staff parking. You are creating heavy charges when a patient cannot find a parking space to attend their appointments and will also probably go over their time paid for due to waiting, through no fault of the patient! Please review your parking asap. Also I am tired from my chemo and trying to find a parking space, driving to my appointment and then spending 4 hours having treatment....I then have to walk back (sometimes a long walk) to get to my car to return home to sleep. I choose Stepping Hill over The Christie due to experiences from 5 years ago. You also need to update your department choices in this review - I am attending the Laurel Suite! Therefore need "Other" Option with free text

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry about the issues you have had with parking. Car parking at the hospital is a challenge and is something we are always trying to improve. I am pleased that your care and treatment has been positive, and will share your feedback with the relevant teams. Mr Kieren Done Complaints and Customer Services Team Manager
