I had to attend the Medical Physics department at the Bradford Royal Infirmary in July, for a heart stress and rest test, I was greeted in reception by a receptionist with blonde hair who showed me such kindness and compassion that she put me at ease from the very word go. Once in the treatment room, a sister explained to me the side effects from the medication that she would inject into my vein to mimic physical exercise, she then inserted the needle (cannula) into my arm, and I can honestly say I hardly felt a thing, she was professional, kind and caring throughout the treatment, as was the young lady who connected me to the heart equipment and was monitoring the results on screen, I then had the required scan.
On the Friday, I attended the same department for day two of my treatment, and again greeted by the same receptionist, who again showed compassion and kindness. Again in the treatment room, a young lady staff member injected me with a radioactive dye, and I felt nothing. She was incredible, same scan as before, and was treated with the same kindness. So my whole experience being treated under the NHS has been absolutely incredible, I can't speak highly enough of their care throughout the two days, thank you so very much.
