"Fantastic care for my mother"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My mother was transferred to the Elective ward from AMU. She is still a patient there now. She is 91 and vulnerable.

The staff there have been fantastic. They have shown kindness and compassion towards her at all times. Leaving her each day has been very difficult for all of her family but we sleep much easier knowing that she really is in safe hands.

All staff and allied professionals really do demonstrate the very best of our often maligned NHS. Thank you to all

Thank you for taking the time to post these positive comments. To hear from you that our staff in these areas got it right for you and your mother will only encourage them to continue practicing in this way and remind others that this is what we must strive to do all the time. I will share these comments with all the staff.

Thank you again.

Director of Nursing

‘’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
