"Thank you Kings Mill, you really looked after me"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Went to A & E Friday afternoon about 3pm, not to busy, booked in at reception very quickly seen by the triage nurse and down to ray.

Quite a mass of people waiting for X-rays, still in and back up to A & E to see the one of the nurses which took another 10 minutes, X-ray up on screen and yes it's broken. A couple of paracetamol to ease the pain and now to see the Doctor to straighten the arm to the wrist and on with the pot.

Doctor was very busy so this took about half an hour into the potting shed, can't think of a better word, now this is the best part gas and air (laughing gas) and the big pull to get the wrist back inline with the arm, plaster cast on the job done.

Back to X-ray, not to much of a wait and yes you're right, the wrist was set, up to A & E for discharge. Now this took in the region of two and a half hours, but it was a walk in the park, all the staff were really marvellous looking forward to when the pot come off, to meet all the nice staff again.

What could have been better, not a lot really, didn't get a cup of tea and biscuits, then I didn't give blood, maybe next time.

Thank you Kings Mill you really looked after me as you have done for most of my life

(72 years young and looking forward to many more years of using Kings Mill)
