"My sons operation - day surgery"

My 5 year old son had been to see senior consultant regarding a required circumcision following a short spree in hospital in feb. Whilst the whole process of appointments etc dragged on (which im sure is just an unfortunate part of the process) - when the day for the op came we were treated extremely well and were overwhelmed by how wonderful the staff were and how smooth it all went. Its quite emotional when you have a young child to handle through an operation - even though its fairly routine. Everything was explained to us very well, we were put at ease and the nurses were so lovely with my son. He even got to ride an electric motorbike to theatre! Furthermore, the consultant was amazing - I dont know many surgeons - but i would assume its rare to get one with such a great sense of humour and who puts you at ease. I felt my son was in good hands. This experience has made me feel proud of the fact we have the NHS.
