"Exceptional Care and Support"

Dear Ernie, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father, please accept my sincere condolences at this painful time. I will be totally honest, your beautifully written and kind feedback was very emotional to read. It is so comforting to know that your father received such an exceptional level of care from the team on ward 3 during his final weeks. I believe when see people who are very sick, frightened and vulnerable, we have a special purpose in healthcare and a much deeper challenge to earn their trust, ease their anxiety and create the healing environment they need - whilst this is true for all our patients, it is particularly important to get right at the end of life. I was so pleased to learn that you and your family felt not only well “cared for” on ward 3 but also “cared about”. Thank you taking the time to let the team know just how much this has meant to you. I know Joyce, the ward manager, is very proud of her team and I know she will make sure that they get to read your very special words when I pass them on.
