Attended Telford day surgery June 20th for knee arthroscopy. What can I say? Prompt booking in and by 8 am I had already been checked into my bed. All the staff were amazing. I saw at least 5 people within an hour - nurses, anaesthetists x 2, physio therapist and surgeon. I was a complete wuss crying before anything was done but the staff were fantastic and took great care of me recognising my fears. I was 2nd on the list and was told I could expect to go down to surgery around 10 am and that's exactly what happened. The staff kindly gave me some kids magic cream for the needle. When I went to the anaesthetic room I got myself in a bit of a state but the team there were brilliant with me. Next I knew I came round in recovery. I was allowed to come round in my own time my only observation was I don't recall my post surgery conversation with my consultant as I was still away with the fairies! I was checked regularly and given tea and toast which was most welcome. I went home 2 hours after recovery armed with plenty if painkillers and instructions. I cannot fault my treatment. The nurses on the day surgery unit were fantastic and very patient with me. The surgeon spent plenty of time with me talking me through my surgery and answering questions. The anaesthetist team were brilliant - thank you for looking after me. I am still recovering but thanks to everyone involved in my care and treatment. I could not have asked for better. Well done NHS.
"Wonderful staff and care"
