This is clearly a very stressful time for you both and as you rightly point out it was important that you received the information about the test results in a clear and timely manner with full opportunity to discuss. When promised access to the nurse specialist it is not acceptable that this did not take place without full explanation. We have shared your comments with the managers for this service who will ensure that staff hear about the impact of their poor communication.
