"Excellent care of myself and my twins"

About: St Michael's Hospital (Bristol)

In June last year I gave birth to twins at St Michaels and as an older mum (42 at the time of their birth) I was given amazing care and treatment every step of the way. Firstly I had to visit the early pregnancy unit twice, which was distressing, but was treated with a great deal of care and compassion. I was put under a consultant and had regular scans throughout the pregnancy. I always felt I was treated with respect and kindness and given the best advice possible from experts in their fields. Finally I had a planned C section and had to stay in hospital for 6 days with my healthy but tiny twins in ward 76. Again the midwives, surgeons, consultant and nursing staff were terrific. Kind, caring, reassuring, respectful and really good at their jobs. Even the food was good (although why do they boil the veg for so long?) I was lucky that I was offered my own room and the ward was quite quiet which helped my experience greatly. Yes its a bit scruffy, yes there were occasional mix ups/long waits, and the parking is awful, but the staff are excellent. I feel very lucky to have had my lovely now one year old twins there.Thank you!
