"I had a heart attack on 23rd Nov ..."

About: The London Chest Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I had a heart attack on 23rd Nov 07 (aged 41) in Mansell Street, and was taken to the Royal London Hospital. A few days later I was transferred to the London Chest Hospital, where I underwent an Angioplasty and had a Stent fitted to my proximal left anterior descending artery which was severely blocked. I have to say that my level of NHS care totally exceeded my expectations from the moment the paramedics carted me off. I was treated with great kindness by many of the nursing staff, and the Doctors explained everything to me fully.

They are all heroes in my book!

It was very reassuring to learn that the London Chest is reputed to be the best Cardiac treatment hospital in Europe, and of that I have no doubt.

What could be improved

Don't order the porridge for breakfast - It's awful!

I wish there was some way I could have used my mobile phone without it interfering with the hospital equipment.

Anything else?

I know I received the best treatment possible from a hospital which pioneers advances in new heart procedures. What more could anybody ask for?
