I met the Professor in the St Thomas' Cleft Service with a view to exploring the possibility of surgery for sleep apnoea. I have been using CPAP for many years but the psychological side effects (I look like a monster every night in bed) and the physical problems, marks on my face, nasal infections etc are increasingly difficult to deal with. When I listened to the Professor talking to his team I felt that finally I had met someone who could help me. Not only did he have empathy for my situation (without me having to verbalise it) but I believe he wants to help me. I do hope that there is funding available and I look forward to my next consultation. Thank you.
