My late wife was cared for by the Marsden Sutton for just over 7 years following diagnosis for ovarian cancer. In addition to the wonderful care she received for that illness involving both several bouts of chemotherapy and surgery, she also had significant and serious blood clot problems which were continuously carefully monitored and effectively treated by a separate team at the Marsden for the 6 years that she was affected by this additional problem. I cannot praise too highly the superb medical care she received across the whole range of the Marsden's capabilities. In addition, and of great additional importance was the outstanding human, emotional support she (& I) received from the whole range of staff at the Marsden. Many of these staff became genuine friends and I cherish the memories of their generosity and kindness that so helped my wife cope with her incurable illness. While the wonderful efforts of the Marsden's staff could not prevent the eventual death of my beloved wife from her illness, I am certain that every possible effort was made to help her and indeed through them despite her illness, she was given a good period of time with a pretty good quality of life.
