"Patient confidentiality /Lack of information"

First of all I worked at North Mid 10 yrs ago and knew it wasn't that great but seriously now to have family members admitted there I know why people have not spoken highly of it. First a elderly family member was admitted and I went to visit them on a Saturday and the "new" main entrance walking towards the depts and wards were dirty and smelling. It was embrassing as my family member was originally in hospital in St George's in south london a couple months back and it was very clean. Now a couple days ago I was in the room with my family member in the AMU dept and heard a conversation with a junior doctor and staff nurse complaining about a patient and in the junior doctors words said "we should put all the patients who are disturbing us in padded room or ward and lock the door" to which the nurse giggled , I don't think they realised I was in the room still so I went out to tell them how wrong that was and an patient was just sitting opposite them. The junior doctor denied it and said I mis heard but I heard word for word. It was horrible to hear them say things like. Then the next day they moved my family member to a different ward and did not inform any one until we went to visit to then find out they moved them the night before. They may have tried to modernise the hospital but as the saying goes " all that glitters, does not shine"
