What I liked

Ward was exceptionally clean and staff very friendly. I had my operation early in the morning and spent the late afternoon/evening coming around. Before the aesthetic the anaesthetist sensed I was a bit nervous and talked me through exactly what she was going to do and reassured of how safe the procedure was. When I awoke after the operation the nurses were very kind and did everything possible to make me comfortable. I was in quite a lot of pain and was grateful to feel like I wasn't being forgotten. During the 2 days I was in the ward it was kept immaculate with cleaners and nurses endlessly disinfecting everything! Unfortunately not everybody on the ward was as appreciative, with some of the patients being quite rude to the nurses and auxiliary staff. However, the staff remained patient and courteous, still giving these people the very best care. I have returned to Heatherwood on numerous occasions since the operation for physiotherapy, were my treatment has again been of the highest quality.

What could be improved

I did feel like I was made to leave the hospital before I was ready. My first night home (one day after the operation) I was still in considerable pain and could have done with stronger pain killers than the tablets I was given.
