"ward B1"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

I was a little frustrated with information giving before going into hospital because I needed to ask some questions that I could not get answered, However, once on the ward I felt much better, the staff were fantastic. Its the 3rd time Ive had knee surgery on B1 and as always you were brilliant

Thank you, Anne, for posting your feedback about ward B1. It is wonderful to hear you were so well looked after by staff during your stay for knee surgery. It is lovely to know that, as someone who has been looked after one more than one occasion, your care and treatment has been consistently high. We are sorry to hear you were frustrated with information giving. Patients who come in for a planned operation attend pre assessment either on the ward or in an outpatient clinic. At that pre assessment session patients are should be given information about the procedure and a phone number to contact should they have any questions. It’s difficult to understand why you felt you could not ask questions without looking at your own details and knowing what date you visited. If you would like us to look into your concerns further, please get in touch with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on free phone 0800 073 0510. In the meantime, we have passed your comments onto the lead nurse and matron in charge of the ward.
