"Colonoscopy in out patient department"

About: King George Hospital

My son had a colonoscopy on the 23rd July 2014 and I must say I was very impressed with the care and attention he received in the out patient unit. The staff were all very nice and helpful and the surgeon explained the procedure to us. The environment was very clean and tidy. There was an especially nice young porter who was very efficient and amenable. If I had one complaint it was the amount of time we had to wait between seeing the surgeon and the procedure and feel maybe we could have been told how long the wait would be. I was very anxious to visit this hospital again as my mother had died there 12 years ago and I can only say that the care and attention she received was utterly diabolical. I am very glad to see that this has improved greatly and do hope that the staff are complimented on their good work. Long May it continue.

Thank you for sharing your son’s experience on NHS Choices. It’s great to hear that when he visited us for his procedure, you were impressed with our staff and the treatment he received. Thank you also for your suggestion - I will feed your comment onto the team. Yours sincerely Stephen Burgess Medical Director
