I'm fuming. Enormous logistical feat getting my 95 year old father to hosp for operation early this morning. Stayed over with me last night etc etc. Lives miles away. He hasn't slept for days because he was anxious about the op. All the arrangements and rescheduling that I had to do; inconvenienced lots of people. Waited for 3 hours in there from 7am. They drew an arrow on his stomach with a felt tip pen; more waiting, then told us there were not enough beds and kicked us out. He has a hernia that he has been told could rupture at any time. Today he was told that if it does, then call an ambulance. He can barely limp the miles to get out of the poxy place as he has a bad leg and back and is infirm. Car parking charges are a rip off. He had not eaten since last night. He was not even offered a cup of tea. He's not that far off 100 years old for God's sake. The whole experience was unwelcoming from the start. A complete shambles. Should the worst happen - it could easily we have been advised - and the hernia ruptures, I will sue you until you have not enough money to pay the cleaners there. Medway Maritime - expect some contact from journalists and a robust complaint procedure.
