I under went a hernia operation which was carried out by day surgery. Unfortunately, I was readmitted four days later due to an uncontrolled infection. I felt there was a poor response from the doctor to treat part of the infection. I had to then spend a further three days in hospital. Nonetheless, subsequent visits to the surgeon were exceptional. There was also excellent after care and treatment from the surgery nurses and NHS Direct staff.
