"emergency care"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Had an chest emergency and had to attend QA Cardiology on a saturday at very short notice. The staff we're very professional and all the right things happened in the right order and at the right time :) The aftercare was first class and my wife & family were treated with respect in a very difficult situation for them. had to go back to A&E a few times and same high level of professionalism was evident there - particularly from the on duty military-trained staff. Sadly a single NHS nurse took the view that as i was not in a bed bay they managed, the nurse wouldn't really talk to us.

Response from Marion Brown, Head of Complaints and Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS), Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust

Thank you for your feedback regarding your admission. It is good to know that you had such a positive experience at the hospital though I note that you felt that a member of the nursing staff chose to ignore you. This is not what we would expect from our staff and would be happy to look into this further if you would like to contact our Patient Experience Team by e-mail on PHT.PatExp@porthosp.nhs.uk or telephone 0800 917 6039.
